You can already tell that the Ardent Nova Decarboxylator is a mouthful to say, but what is it exactly? Those of you who like to use edibles should know that a decarboxylator—decarb for short—is a way to dry out your herbs without burning or charring them. That leaves them in the perfect state to be sprinkled or infused into whatever meal you are making, as well as any tinctures or lotions you’re concocting.
That is because decarboxylation is a chemical process that releases all the cannabinoids from the plant or extract by heating it to a certain temperature. The Nova is a lot better than using an oven to dry out your herb since you don’t have to closely monitor it to make sure that it doesn’t end up getting burned.
If you’re into making edibles or homemade balms, tinctures, or lotions, then the Nova is your new favorite appliance. It decarbed any strain of herb I put into it thoroughly, leaving them in the perfect state to be sprinkled over any of the food I had lying around. There’s no need for grinding, just put your bud in there and hit the power button. Best of all, the Nova is totally odorless, so you can decarb in peace without alerting anyone who might be tempted to narc on you. Technically it can hold a lot of herb but it is recommended that you only use no more than an ounce, otherwise it won’t dry out properly.
Once the process is complete, the herb comes out nice and dry and ready for infusion, for making edibles, or even for use as a spice. Normally, the decarb process takes hours of prep time using oils or butters, the Nova puts an end to all of that since it doesn’t require any prep time and doesn’t need any other substance for the process. So, you get to save on both time and on resources.
The sensors in the Nova do a good job of detecting when to stop the decarb process in all types of herb. I used it in a few edibles and it works great, I didn’t try making any balms or anything like that, but I imagine that the Nova will be helpful in making them too. You can use it to decarb high CBD/low THC strains as well and use the resulting herb to get all the benefits of CBD you’ve been hearing about. I’ve used it a few times and have yet to run into any performance problems or any other issues, so it seems like it will be a pretty reliable device.
